RainDance Water Systems Iron Eater
Frequently Asked Questions & More

Why settle for a basic softener? RainDance Iron Eater removes iron up to 25ppm, hard water up to 110gpg, and delivers unmatched reliability for well water users.

NOT ALL WATER SOFTENERS ARE CREATED EQUAL! We invite you to compare our quality, knowledge, and support with any others on the market today. We receive many phone calls from customers who have purchased water softeners from other companies and now regret it. Many of our competitor's softener systems are generic, massed produced and show up right off the shelf. Unfortunately, these systems have very low iron filtering parameters and can rarely be customized to treat water outside their listed parameters.

Q1: Why should I choose RainDance Water Systems for my Iron Eater well water softener?
A: With over 20 years of experience in well water treatment, RainDance Water Systems provides dependable, high-quality softeners tailored for tough water conditions like high iron and hardness. Our Iron Eater system comes with free delivery in the continental USA, an installation kit, and lifetime water testing. We offer 365-day technical support and a safe online shopping experience or phone orders. Our satisfied customer reviews speak to the quality of our products and customer service.

Q2: Why do I need a well water softener instead of a standard softener?
A: Well water often contains more contaminants, like iron and manganese, that standard softeners aren’t designed to handle. A well water softener, like the Iron Eater, provides a comprehensive solution, removing high iron and hardness for better water quality throughout your home.

Q3: What makes the Iron Eater different from a standard water softener?
A: Unlike standard softeners, the Iron Eater removes both high iron (up to 25 ppm) and hardness (up to 110 gpg) with just one system. This eliminates the need for separate iron and water softening units, saving you money and space.

Q4: Does the Iron Eater require special maintenance?
A: No, the Iron Eater is easy to use with an automatic, water-efficient metered backwashing control valve. It also allows for flexible salt choices—standard sodium pellets or potassium for sodium-free softening.

Q5: Can the Iron Eater handle other contaminants besides iron and hardness?
A: Yes, the Iron Eater is designed to tackle high levels of iron and manganese, along with hardness. This makes it suitable for homes dealing with multiple water quality issues, especially in well water sources.

Q6: Is the Iron Eater more expensive than a standard water softener?
A: No, in fact, the Iron Eater is more affordable than many national franchise systems, especially considering it combines iron removal and water softening in a single system, reducing the need for additional equipment.

Q7: What if my water is already soft - Do I still need a water softener to remove iron?
A: NO. If your main concern is iron filtration then a water softener will not be needed. Please see our Iron Max Series for whole house iron filtration without softening.

Q8: Can I install the Iron Eater myself?
A: Yes, the Iron Eater comes with a basic installation kit, installation instructions and our support team is available 7 days a week to assist you with setup questions.

Q9: Does the Iron Eater come with any warranty or support?
A: Yes, we offer lifetime water testing, 365-day customer support, and even after-hours assistance. Plus, we provide a warranty on all parts, ensuring you have support whenever you need it.

Q10: How does the Iron Eater’s efficiency compare to standard water softeners?
A: The Iron Eater’s metered control valve uses water only as needed, making it very efficient. Standard softeners that use timer valves can waste water through excessive backwashing cycles, whereas the Iron Eater adjusts based on your water usage, conserving water and energy.

High Capacity Twin Continuous Water Softeners
Designed Solely for Water Wells

The Twin Alternating Iron Eater is used where there is a demand for continuous soft, iron-free water at flow rates or higher water usage than those obtainable through a single water softening system.

Compare The Difference: Single-tank water softeners can’t regenerate and filter your iron & hard water at the same time, so there may be times that untreated iron and hard water flows into the plumbing. Our twin tank systems, such as the Twin Iron Eater offered by RainDance Water Systems, don’t suffer from this problem. They keep softening and filtering iron in your water 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Iron Eater alternating twin tanks provide an uninterrupted supply of soft iron free water to your home or business. These systems feature two tanks for softening and filtering well water. Water is softened and filtered in one tank while the other is in a standby mode. When the softening capacity of the first tank is reached, the system automatically switches tanks. The first tank is then recharged. This cycle is repeated when the second tank reaches its capacity point. Perfect for the home or business! Compare our entire line of Twin Iron Eaters at the Iron Eater Store
