How Does The Iron Eater-125 Remove High Iron And Soften Hard Well Water? Our renown Iron Eater-125 series utilizes specialized resin and iron filter media. The fineness of the resin creates a filter that is about 5x more effective than standard resins so it does a good job of ferric iron removal with polishing by the high iron filtration media. The effectiveness on ferrous iron is a function of resin kinetics: the more often and completely the water touches the resin, the more iron is removed. Kinetics in turn is a function of the surface area of the resin. The kinetics is equally important during regeneration. The brine is used more effectively thus the resin cleans better and uses the salt more efficiently. The same concept used for the ferrous iron applies to the removal of hardness.

Connect it to the main line of your home's plumbing, plug in the control valve to a nearby power outlet, and add softening pellets/water to the brine tank! The Iron Eater iron filter well water softener is a self-backwashing system that automatically removes the trapped iron and hard water minerals within the filter bed and washes them down the drain. This is accomplished with the electronic control valve that is mounted on top of the Iron Eater. This valve is controlled by a meter, that calculates the amount of water being used. Once the meter reaches x amount of gallons, It then initiates the backwash cycle that cleans the bed of filtration media and resets it for the next period of filtration. Our Iron Eater includes a Digital Control Valve The Highest Quality Control Valve Available On The Market Today! Nearly All Of Our Competitors Still Offer An Older Mechanical (dial) Version Of This New Modernized Control Valve. The Iron Eater-125 Iron Well Water Softener Series is designed to provide Residential and Light Commercial applications soft, iron filtered well water at higher flow rates. The maximum contaminant levels for iron and manganese in well water are 0.3 milligrams per liter (mg/l) and 0.05 mg/l, respectively. Iron and manganese in excess of the suggested maximum contaminant levels usually results in discolored water and staining of water using appliances and clothing. Iron stains a browny, orange color; Manganese leaves black particles on fixtures and plumbing.
